Welcome to the Catholic Center at Georgia Tech! More importantly, welcome to the Graduate Student and Young Professional Ministry!
Our graduate student community is a small, but personal group that works to serve the social and spiritual needs of its members. Through weekly Bible study, service events, cookouts, and outdoor adventures, we offer a friendly environment to meet new people and share in the joys and frustrations of post-graduate life. We are an active part of the Georgia Tech Catholic Center, and we are open to all graduate students and recent graduates, including those from Georgia State and Emory.
Whether you are a brand new graduate student at Georgia Tech or a seasoned veteran longing for the day to defend, we have a place for you. Most of our members are in their 20s, but we are single and married, Masters and PhD, American and International, some with children, and spouses and significant others are always invited. We have been where you are at: being torn in many directions with a million things to do AND keep your advisor happy. We are always looking for new friends and new ideas, so come check us out!
We generally meet each Tuesday at the Catholic Center for Mass at 5:30pm and Bible study from 6pm to 7pm. From time to time we go out to dinner, go for a hike, see a show, do a service project, and every once in a while celebrate somebody's graduation. You are welcome to join us whenever you are able.
We are so glad you decided to come to Georgia Tech and join the Catholic Center family, and we hope to see you at some of our events!

Despite the fact that we are busy grad students, we still manage to have an awful lot of fun.
The Graduate Student and Young Professional Ministry started in March 2009. Our first event was an Ice Cream Social, and about 12 students attended. The first annual 3rd of July BBQ was held the following summer with visiting priest Fr. Bernie Bisbee. In the fall semester of 2009, we welcomed our first new class of graduate students at GradExpo and began a weekly Bible study in the basement of the Catholic Center. In the spring of 2010, we held our first day retreat focused on the divine mercy of Christ. The fall of 2010 brought many new members with over 80 people on our email list. We teamed up with the Cathedral of Christ the King for our first Habitat for Humanity service project. The group continues to be focused outward attending Catholic events all over the Archdiocese, including Theology on Tap and Ignatius House.
