The Catholic Student Organization at Georgia Tech is the student body which works with the Georgia Tech Catholic Center at Georgia Tech. The Catholic Center offers sacraments to the students, and a host of different events to engage the spiritual, intellectual, and fraternal needs of the GT community. There is a main chapel, adoration chapel, and plenty of communal space for students to do homework or just hang out in. We are open to ALL students (undergraduate and graduate), employees, faculty members, and GT alumni.
Liturgy
Who We Are
Want to play a key role in helping the Georgia Tech community celebrate the liturgy? Want to keep on serving for the mass like you did in your home parish? Want something to do on a Sunday? Sign up for a server position! We are always looking for more people to volunteer. Training is very quick and usually through personal appointment. Become an Usher and be the welcoming face that invites fellow students and Catholics from around the Atlanta area into mass. Become a Lector and proclaim the living Scripture in the Liturgy of the Word. Become an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion, and administer Christ himself to the people. Train as an Altar Server, serving a vital role in the execution of the mass and immersing yourself in participation with the liturgy.

Adoration
The Georgia Tech Catholic Center is able to offer adoration throughout the week with a break for Mass/Communion Service at 5:30pm each day. Those times are Monday through Friday from 6am – 10p in the adoration chapel. This amazing service allows students the opportunity to visit Jesus Christ whenever time may be available in their schedule. The Liturgy Pillar supports the Catholic Center by facilitating students’ growth through encounters with God primarily in the Mass and the Sacraments. In particular, the pillar includes the following:
- Liturgy Servers
- Music Ministry
- Adoration Team
- Special Liturgical Event Planning/Organization
- Sanctuary Upkeep
Liturgy Servers
Under the umbrella of our liturgy servers are the following roles which are all filled by students:
- Altar Servers
- Lectors
- Ushers/Greeters
- Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
- Mass Captains
- Sacristans
The Mass Captains take “ownership” of a particular Sunday Mass, ensuring that we have all server positions filled for the Mass and supporting the Chaplain before Mass as necessary. The Sacristans are responsible for ensuring that the behind the scenes details are handled.
Music Ministry
Beauty is central to Christianity and music is an integral part of that. Headed by a music ministry coordinator, this group assists with music at each of our Sunday and special Masses through voice and instrument. Each Mass has a student leader who coordinates weekly practices with the vocalists and musicians.
Adoration Team
Adoration is a time and place of prayer and encounter with Jesus Christ. We are very blessed to have many opportunities to adore Jesus exposed in the Blessed Sacrament at the Catholic Center. Headed by an adoration coordinator, the adoration team consists both of those faithful adorers who make extensive hours of Eucharistic Adoration possible here at the Catholic Center and those students who take a more active role helping to coordinate the adoration schedule.
How To Get Involved
- At the beginning of each semester, we’ll ask for sign-ups for all server positions and coordinate trainings for those interested. If you think you’ve missed your window of opportunity to sign up after we’ve finished training, think again! We’d love to add you to the team, and we’re able to train servers on a one-on-one basis, as necessary.
- Music ministry is ALWAYS looking for more voices and talent – just talk to one of the current members of the music ministry to find out when rehearsals are!
- Adoration is also ALWAYS open to anyone – just show up to the Adoration Chapel and spend some time with Jesus. If you’re interested in getting onto our weekly Adoration schedule as a general adorer, there are always signup forms right outside the Adoration Chapel.
- Many of the coordination-type roles require an application to the CSO board that usually happens at the end of the fall and spring, but feel free to contact or approach any of the current leaders to find out more about what they do.

Faith Formation
Who We Are
Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA)
Classes are on Sundays at 1:00p in the CC lobby.
Help us in building up the Body of Christ at the Catholic Center! OCIA is a key program in spreading the Kingdom of God here on Georgia Tech’s campus. If you are interested in receiving the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation) or becoming a sponsor, please email ocia@gtcatholic.org at any time!
Renew
Every other Thursday at 7:30p
Renew is a night of Eucharistic adoration, confession, and praise & worship. Come adore our Lord, hear student testimonies, share in fellowship, and begin again! All are welcome.
Retreats
Fall Community Retreat usually held in September
One or two retreats are offered every term for students to come grow in intimacy with the Lord, share in communion with each other, and rest well. We encourage all students to set aside this time each semester to center our lives towards what is meaningful and true!
FOCUS Bible Studies

The Catholic Center offers men’s and women’s Bible studies with varied days and times to meet the needs of student schedules. Please fill out the student registration form or reach out to one of our FOCUS missionaries directly if interested in joining a bible study at the Catholic Center!
Faith as Life
Once per month, Thursdays at 7:30p
Faith as Life is a series of presentations and talks at the GTCC. The goal of these talks is to share how a piece of our Catholic faith can be lived beautifully in daily life. Past examples of Faith as Life topics have been the stars, poetry, cooking, music, architecture and even things like career panels and mini concerts. These events show us that the Catholic Faith is not merely a moral code or an abstract explanation of existence but is something real and tangible that can be lived each day by noticing the beauty of life and the joy of relationship.

FORMED
Through the generosity of the pastor of the Basilica, the Georgia Tech community has access to FORMED, an online Catholic resource containing books, audio, movies, etc. for those interested in learning more and exploring the faith. Current Program Offerings
- OCIA Participant or Sponsor – Attend weekly OCIA classes and learn about the teachings of the Church
- OCIA Small Group Leader – Lead small groups for OCIA candidates to further supplement weekly classes, answer questions, and foster community between catechumens.
- Renew Team – Create a welcoming environment for attendees and lead in the setup and break down of Renew
- Renew Music Team – Plan and lead praise & worship for Renew nights
- Retreat Coordinator – Oversee the logistics of retreats such as signups, sending info emails, organizing rides, planning meals, preparing schedule, and more.
- Podcast Coordinator – Organizes the production, editing, and distribution of the Helluva Catholic Podcast
- Librarian – Organizes and manages our CC Essentials Library
How To Get Involved
- Come by the center and meet some people, look over our calendar and/or just start joining some of our many events.
- Check out the GroupMe’s for the various ministries we have – a great way to stay in the loop of CC happenings!
- Introduce yourself to our Chaplain or FOCUS missionaries after Mass.
- We are always open to discuss our current programs or receive suggestions on new ones.
- If looking to help in the building up of our Catholic community, pillar positions are a great way to get involved. These are leadership positions within our Catholic Student Organization (CSO). Be on the look out for the CSO board pillar applications at the end of the Fall and Spring terms.

Who We Are
At the Georgia Tech Catholic Center, community is at the center of everything we do. We aim to cultivate fellowship through student-led activities, enriching student life and providing a place to call home. We host social events ranging from bonfires to outdoor sports to swing dances, and we participate in Georgia Tech events such as homecoming, football games, and intramurals. Are you passionate about creating a vibrant, energetic environment for fellow Catholics at Tech and in the Atlanta area? Current Program Offerings
We strive to provide new and exciting events to enrich your college experience and foster authentic relationships & encounters.
- Special Events: The Special Events Team plans fun-filled and unique events to engage our community over the course of the semester.
- Recreation Events: The Recreation coordinator manages Catholic Center intramurals and hosts field events or tournaments on campus.
- Greek Community Events: The Greek Community Coordinators are responsible for fostering the Greek community at the Catholic Center and helping them live out their faith in their respective communities.
- Freshmen Events: The Freshmen Events Team hosts a variety of events for freshmen to come enjoy and meet friends in the faith.
- Men’s and Women’s Community Events: The Men’s and Women’s Events Teams host a variety of events for their respective community to grow in sister/brotherhood through fun and formative events.
- Food Events: The Catholic center hosts community dinners, pancake breakfasts, coffee & donut gatherings, and sundae nights during various Sundays of the month immediately following mass.
- Coffee Bar: Students can use our coffee bar in the lobby, supplied full with creamers, sugar, snacks, and more for all your coffee break needs!
- Rent the Kitchen: Students can reserve the CC kitchen for a night to cook with friends and have half their groceries paid for!
How To Get Involved
- First and foremost, check the Catholic Center calendar! There you will find all the planned events for the month.
- Just come hang out! People are always studying, playing games, or chatting in the lobby or basement of the Catholic Center, it is a great, organic way to meet people and become integrated in the community, all are ALWAYS welcome!
- Sign up to compete and grow in community with your fellow Catholic Yellow Jackets through intramurals! Interest forms are sent our each semester
- Join the groupme for your respective community, see the corkboard in the CC Basement!
- At the end of the semester, pillar position applications open. If you are interested in serving as a member or the coordinator on a Community Life team, apply on the pillar position form for the next semester!

Outreach
Who We Are
Welcome to Outreach! Here at the Catholic Center, Outreach is the channel through which we serve the greater Atlanta community, including those here on campus, as the hands and feet of Christ. Specifically, we engage in homeless, elderly, infirm, Hispanic, pro-life, and high school ministries, in addition to engaging with the wider Georgia Tech community. No matter the capacity in which we serve, as Christians, we are all called to go out, spreading the Good News, and encountering Christ in all those we meet. Current Program Offerings
- Homeless ministry serves the people on the streets of Atlanta by working with groups in Atlanta or distributing food bags ourselves, while having conversations with the people we encounter
- Hispanic ministry unites people of the Hispanic community and creates a space for them to feel at home
- Pro-life ministry supports the unborn and women that are pregnant through prayers and care packages
- Internal outreach aims to connect students to the Catholic Center and help make it known through tabling on campus and other marketing efforts
- Elderly/infirm ministry provides care by playing music and writing letters for the elderly or patients
- High school outreach links incoming students to the Catholic Center and to each other
Grad/PhD Students
Welcome to all graduate and PhD students!
The grad/PhD group at the GT Catholic Center (GTCC) is a community that works to serve the spiritual and social needs of masters and PhD Students at Georgia Tech. While graduate students are welcome to attend any event hosted by the Catholic Center, we recognize the importance of having a community of your own.
The GTCC grad/PhD community hosts monthly dinners at the Catholic Center. We also have a monthly social event usually off campus. Dinners are on Tuesday evenings. Events tend to be every other week.
We also have Bible studies specifically for grad/PhD students. Currently, we have two graduate women’s studies and one graduate men’s study. Contact cregister@gtcatholic.org if interested. We also encourage you to complete the registration page so we can include you in all communications.
Music Ministry
Do you love to glorify the Lord through music? Join the Music Ministry! We provide music for all four Sunday Masses, Spanish Mass, and Renew with the intention of increasing the beauty of His liturgy. Through music, we seek to glorify the Lord and lead the faithful to a deeper experience of the Divine. We are a strong community of musicians pursuing deep friendships, joy, and laughter in our journey to sainthood.
